Perfecting the Necro/Elementalist...
I have a Necro/Elementalist character which I am trying to perfect for PvP. Right now, I've never seen the Hall of Heroes, let alone gotten past the second Fight at the tombs. It could be that I'm getting groups with bad communication and no strategy, It could be no-one seems to want me because I don't have TS or Vent, but it's probably that I'm just not doing it right. What I'm looking for, is a good spellset and a strategy to go with it, or a vague outline of something to that effect.
Right now my stats are -
Blood magic 13 (Base 9, Boosted with superior blood magic, and countered the HP with a Major Vigor)
Soul reaping 9 (Base 8, Boosted with minor soul reaping)
Fire magic 12 (No mods)
I'll level up my blood magic to 14 once I can get a group for Hero's Challenge.
I have full Tormentor's armour (70 Def, Droknar's forge) And a ragged scar pattern. I use a purple 10-20 Truncheon (+3 energy, 6% chance of improving casting speed) and a +12 energy idol (+18hp while hexed)
In PvP battles, I usually use Vampiric Gaze, Strip enchantment, Offering of Blood, Pheonix, Meteor shower. The rest is variable, sometimes demonic flesh, Res. Signet, Flare, Inferno or Order of pain.
So, are my attribute points going in the right places?
Are the spells I'm using the right ones for the job or are they way off?
What kind of bonuses should I look for when buying a weapon + mods, and should I use Staves or 1 handed weps?
Is fire + blood actually a good combination?
Any advice is appreciated, Thank you.

I am a Blood Fire N/E its ok against PvE but PvE is another thing. The problem is Mesmer and Ranger in PvE. I wish I got Water instead of Fire. But is depends on your PvP teams also and I think Fire is just too overated. Thats all. Please ask another water ele user or other than fire.

Ok, I just like fire for it's offensive capabilities..
So, I should switch to a different element?
I'm not too fond of water, though, Might try Air, but i'll see what other people think.

I have some experience with necro/ele. I would recomend you switch out inferno and phoenix. Also take out meteor shower as it causes exaustion and its an aoe which is worthless in pvp. Opting to put in more spells like immolate and such. However I always considered necro/ele as possiblely being able to be a great supporter- blood maxed (12+1 head gear +3 sup rune=16) with 12 into earth magic. You would have well of blood/power, wards against*, Bip, orders, and all kinds of stuff to choose from.
Unfortunatly that wanes greatly more twoards support.....you wanted to do damage right? I think you should have chosen Elementalist primary. Of course I haven't thought of everything lol. Hopefully some other person may be able to offer more advice and what not.

I'm not a Nec/Ele but I am an Ele/Nec who uses Fire + Blood. If you want to do massive damage in PvP then I would suggest changing from Fire to Earth. I am only using fire as I find it more usefull in PvE which I am still currently hiking through. Any way...In PvP the best offensive skills are the ones that ignore armour IMO. I use Life Tansfer{E} and life syphon for a nice 10 degen/regen. Then steal life using hypnotic gaze, barbed signet, Vampiric touch (optional I dont like it as u need to be up close) and Shadow strike is also amazing. On lvl 12 blood you can do over 80 damage if targets health is over 50%. All of these necro skills ignore armour and are more damaging if u spam them all one on target. The reason I chose earth is for Obsidian Flame. Again this is because it does over 90 damage ignoring armour and can be cast every 5 seconds and only costs 5 energy. Plus with earth there are plenty of defense skills u can choose from.
I could be put wrong in this build of mine and I will willingly except any faults people see in it but it's worked for me very nicely. Also remember I am a Ele/Nec and not a Nec/Ele - My energy is around the 90 mark so I might be able to spam these skills better in PvP than a Nec/Ele.
Note : DO NOT WORRY ABOUT EXHAUSTION IN PvP. Seriously there is no need to worry. How many times have u been in PvP and managed to get your enerygy bar back up too full. In PvP there isn't enough time for a casters energy to fully restore itself. So exhaust yourself away because the fight will soon be over....However like I said my energy is around the 90 mark so exhaustion might effect other classes a lot more.

N/E Blood/Fire rocks PvE. I'm switching to Air soon when I beat the game (2 missions left) and then I'm moving on to PvP. The power of an Air elementalist in PvP is awesome. Even on the receiving end as a warrior. Switch to air if you are going PvP.

Crank your Blood Magic to the max. A level 18 Blood Magic has a 110hp Shadow Strike, a 68hp Vampiric Gaze!
On the Ele side, Fire is very useful for PvE, but Air (or Earth) are better for PvP. Also, for PvP, Soul Reaping is useless. Dump it and max Blood and Air.

I'm no expert on Nec/Eles, so i won't comment on that. The reason you have never seen HoH or gotten past the second battle in tombs is BECAUSE you don't hav ts and/or vent. They are completely and totally free, and you don't even have to own a mic. Communication is key to success. I would like to say that, although your build may have a couple flaws, there are 7 other people in your team, your build isn't the reason you can't get past the second battle.

Well you need a mic in order to talk to someone. But if u dont have one you can still hear other people. So it's still good for listening to orders from team leader.

Actually, my sister bought that god-awful singstar game for Ps2, I wonder if the mics for that work on my comp...

Yeah if you want to do dmg scrap the nec primary. Both me/e and n/e simply do not have the energy to do dmg for any reasonable amount of time.

Ok, I switched to Air, got blood to 16 and downloaded TS.
I equipped Shock, Lightning strike, enervating charge, chain lightning, vampiric gaze, oferring of blood, strip enchantment + well of blood.
But I kind of have a problem with exhaustion... I quickly end up not being able to recharge my energy...
Anyone suggest some spells that I should use instead?

Yeah I agree. I use Glyph of Energy. The elite one. The recharge isn't acutally that bad IMO. Only a 15 sec recharge and any skill up to 20 energy cost only costs 5 energy. Plus you don't suffer from exhastion. It's a general Elite skill so u dont need to put any extra attrib points to anything. Capture from some dude in Mineral Springs in the South Shiverpeaks. I can't remeber his name.
Air spells are quite costly and I too struggled for energy at first. But this Elite skill works a treat.
Since your a nec and using a lot of blood magic. U could look at using the Elite blood skill "Offering of the Blood" instead of the glyph of energy. Since you have lvl 16 blood you should easily be able to give yourself over 20 energy each time u cast it, which should be every 15 secs. And as you are using blood you can quickly steal the life back that u lost on sacrifice. According to this site, Thunderhead Keep in South Shiverpeaks is where you can capture this skill.
Hope this helped.

Do you have 4 characters ? If not, grab a free slot and roll a E/N and try again. Soul Reaping without minions is of dubious value in any circumstance, and all but useless in most PvP situations. Air spike damage is about piling lots on fast - you can't do that if you're waiting for your energy to recharge. On that note, get yourself to Mineral Springs and capture Well of Power for use instead of Well of Blood. That will help out your energy issues whether you're N/E or E/N.
Also, PvP is about more than just dealing damage. Blood can look very nice, but I'd advise taking a close look at Curses. Some spells there are just plain evil.
